Description

Module 1: 23.03.10

Module 2: 30.03.10 6-8pm (drinks and networking until 9pm)

Working in the fashion industry is exciting, but it's notoriously hard to get into both as a freelancer and when setting up your own business. To make the most of your talent you need to know how to protect and value your ideas, negotiate the best contracts with potential commissioners and get the terms and conditions for your business right.

This seminar will give you an insight into industry standards, teach you how to spot contentious clauses in contracts and provide techniques to stop others from 'ripping off' your designs. It will also set out the legal framework for setting up a business and what to look out for when developing your first shop: your website.

The event is delivered in two modules covering different aspects of the subject:

Module 1:

All about contracts – from freelance to business
Taking  place on 23 March 2010, from 6-8pm, followed by drinks/networking until 9pm.

Module 2:

Your online shop – setting up your website
Taking  place on 30 March 2010, from 6-8pm, followed by drinks/networking until 9pm.

Admission is free however places are limited.
